The Cake Shop at Oxford's Covered Market has welcomed some important visitors over the years.

Staff at the shop announced it is to leave the market after trading there for 38 years.

The shop is closing on May 11 and will open in a new unit in Witney on May 18.

Over the years it has enjoyed a number of VIP visits including one from Prince Charles and Camilla when the Royal couple toured the market in 2017.

Oxford Mail:

In 2006 it moved to its current trading position, and the new shop was opened by the Lord Mayor.

Tourists from around the world have enjoyed taking photos of the specially themed cakes.
