An unknown amount of money has been stolen from a high street bank in the middle of the night.

Four men targeted the Santander bank on the High Street in Witney this morning (Sunday, April 28) at around 1.40am.

An electric blue Audi RS3 parked outside the branch before three men forced entry through the front door where they targeted an ATM.

The other man remained outside on the footpath while the others were inside.

All three have made off in the vehicle with an unknown amount of money.

Four people were seen to stop and talk to one of the offenders at the time, police have said.

One of these has come forward but the force is urging the others and anyone else who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Paddy O’Grady, of the Priority Crime Team based at Witney police station, said: “I’m appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“I would urge you to contact us on 101, quoting reference 43240194531.

“I would also ask anybody else who was in the area and witnessed this to get in touch.

“If you were driving and have dash-cam that may have captured the incident, please call us or make a report online.

"Four people were seen to stop and talk to one of the offenders at the time. One of these has come forward, but I would urge the other three to please contact us, as you may have important information that can assist this investigation.
