There will be a range of activities on offer for children and their families to enjoy in South Oxfordshire and the Vale of White Horse this May half term.

From May 28 to 31, young children, along with their families can take part in the Xplorer navigation challenge in Benson and Abingdon.

Meanwhile, the Cornerstone Arts Centre in Didcot is offering children the opportunity to create their own robot from recycled material, or join Mr Bubbles for The Bubble Show, described as a "unique blend of magic, storytelling and science".

In Wantage, The Beacon is set to showcase ‘The Little Red Hen’ with puppetry, live music and comedy.

South Oxfordshire District Council's cabinet member for community wellbeing, councillor Maggie Filipova-Rivers, encouraged families to take part.

She said: "Whether it’s running around, getting creative or being wowed by magic, young children will really enjoy the activities and events that we’ve got planned over the half-term holiday."

Councillor Helen Pighills, cabinet member for community health and wellbeing at Vale of White Horse District Council, added: "Our half-term holiday activities are a great way for young children to get active or to enjoy a show at an affordable price.

"So, make sure you book early to guarantee a place for your child."
